AISSA McGuirl

Physical Therapist | Personal trainer | Pelvic Floor Specialist

My name is Aissa McGuirl. I am from a small town in Connecticut. I just moved to Florida a few years ago to be outside everyday. I have played sports all throughout my entire life, and have alway been in love with movement and how the body works.

I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Hartford in 2017. Throughout grad school I worked in the fitness setting and got my Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification. As a full time grad student, I worked as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer while trained myself. Even with all the stuff I knew about the body, the medical feild, and fitness, I suffered from multiple unexplained injuries and illnesses. I did not take any diagnosis as the answer. Over the years I have dove further and further into the body to understand the “why’s” and “how’s” at the deepest level to effect the big picture.

I’ve found the body is so amazing if you just give it what it needs: proper food, exercise, and habits based on your individual differences. I have taken continuing education courses on: craniosacral therapy, overuse injuries, manual therapy, dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, biomechanics, nutrition, myofasical patterns, gait, postural restoration, and so many more.

When I had my daughter in 2021 I learned the hard way of what not to do after a baby. I dove further into how the process of growing a baby changes your body through courses in pelvic floor physical therapy, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, and received my pregnancy and postpartum exercise specialist certification. Combining all the education I’ve developed a system to help your body recover to feel “you” again, and build to feel even better.

SAM HEUMANN FREED

Fitness Trainer| Pre/Postnatal Specialist

Pre/postnatal Specialist | Stroller Sculpt | PCES, Barre, Pilates, Kines

As a new mom and certified pregnancy and postpartum trainer, she brings over a decade of fitness expertise to the table. With a degree in Kinesiology, Sam seamlessly blended her love for fitness with her career in tech sales, juggling personal training on weekends and teaching Barre classes before and after work.

When the pandemic hit, Sam pivoted her passion online, creating "Barre Class for a Cause," a virtual fitness initiative raising funds for non-profits. This sparked the idea for her own online studio, Humanlywell, offering personal training, group classes, and innovative corporate wellness programs.

During her own pregnancy journey, Sam noticed a gap in safe and energizing workouts. Determined to fill this void, she pursued additional certifications in pre-postnatal fitness and corrective exercise. Drawing from her expertise, she crafted a specialized class called Stroller Sculpt, as well as an online program to empower new and expecting mamas to build strength safely and effectively, ensuring they feel supported, strong, and empowered every step of the way.

CAROLINE STROGIS

Fitness Trainer | Personal & Group Training

My name is Caroline Strogis. I have been a NASM-certified personal trainer for 10 years, and am a certified nutrition coach and performance enhancement specialist as well. I also studied health education at the University of Florida. Go Gators!

After playing soccer my entire life, I knew how much I loved being an athlete and pushing my body. When I stopped playing soccer going into college, I realized I needed to do something else to maintain the level of fitness I was used to. I got into weightlifting and was hooked.

During college, I started 1:1 personal training at a small gym in downtown Gainesville. I also started a boot camp called Sorority Strong where I put groups of girls from UF through circuit-style workout classes. Post-grad, I always pursued fitness on the side of my full-time job. I coached Orangetheory and F45 for five years.

I am so excited that I now get to work in fitness full-time. I love to help others learn to love the gym like I do. My goal is to help women go into the gym confidently and leave feeling accomplished and strong.

My favorite things other than the gym: my french bulldog Blue, cheering for the Gators, sushi, iced coffee, and being in the sun.

MICHAELA KLIMEK

Pilates Instructor

My name is Michaela Klimek. I have a strong passion for anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, dance and movement. I believe that movement is medicine. These passions combined led me to become a 500 hour fully comprehensive certified Pilates instructor.

I grew up in the Suburbs of Chicago where I devoted my life to dancing. I became a professional performer and dancer at a very young age, and this passion for movement carried me into adulthood. I moved to Tampa in 2012 where I earned my BS in Allied Health with a concentration in physical therapy sciences. I continued to dance professionally, and cheered in the NFL for five wonderful seasons where I was a team captain for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders. In 2018, I decided to pursue my Pilates certification, and I haven’t looked back since.

Pilates combines functional movement with choreography, while maintaining poise and strength. Pilates is ideal for every body, and I feel strongly about connecting the world of fitness and functional movement to make you feel and move better in your day to day life. In a world that is constantly trying to fold us forward between texting, typing, driving, and feeding babies, I like to focus on strengthening the core and the posterior chain to counteract everything that lies in front of us. As a new Mom, this is so important to me, and I love spreading my love and knowledge for Pilates even more than before. My goal is to have you leave your Pilates session feeling better than when you walked in. Movement is a privilege, and we should thank and embrace our bodies for all they do for us no matter what stage of life we are in.

When I’m not teaching Pilates, you can find me making floral arrangements and embracing my new title as “Mama” to my sweet baby boy.

I am beyond excited to be part of  wellness team at the Spiral Staircase in Tampa. I can’t wait to move with you on the mat or the reformer!
